Understanding cold spray technology for hydroxyapatite deposition

چکیده
The standard method for applying hydroxyapatite (HAp) coatings to biomedical implants is plasma spraying. However, due the high temperature of plasma, these frequently experience negative effects like evaporation, phase change, de-bonding, gas release, and residual stresses. This paper summarizes a revolutionary technique known as cold spray (CS), which allows HAp be applied at temperatures well below their melting point. CS has several advantages over conventional high-temperature technologies, it seems approaching parity with other older methods. When using approach, enhance bioactivity, increase corrosion resistance, maintain characteristics calcium phosphate ceramics. study aims give concise comprehensive overview HAp-based materials, including substituted-HAp HAp/polymer composites, applications in bone tissue engineering. To better understand technology, comparison CS, high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF), given end. perspective difficulties were also highlighted.

Hydroxyapatite/silica Nanopowders Deposition on Ti Substrate by Plasma Spray Method
In this work, hydroxyapatite/silica nanopowders were granulated to fabricate plasma sprayable feedstocks. For this purpose, the wet powders obtained by heating a hydroxyapatite/silica slurry were stirred and sieved. To realize the feedstock application in the plasma spray process, powders were deposited on titanium substrate. The morphology of granulated feedstock and sprayed coating was ...

The purpose of this study was to investigate the deposition of the hydroxyapatite (HA) coating via the electrophoresis procedure. The HA deposition was performed in an ethanol, methanol, acetone and isopropanol suspension. Methanol was found to be the best deposition media. Among the different environmental conditions, including the encapsulation of the samples under two vacuum types of pr...

Hydroxyapatite deposition disease (HADD), a disease most commonly found in middleaged individuals, is characterized by deposition of calcium phosphate crystals in periarticular tissues. The deposits frequently occur in tendons near their osseous attachments, most commonly involving the supraspinatus tendon. The etiology of HADD is unclear, but may be related to repetitive trauma or metabolic di...
متن کاملBio-ceramic Composite Coatings by Cold Spray Technology
Bioceramics such as hydroxyapatite (HAP) have been conventionally deposited by plasma spray technique. However, due to the inherent high temperature in the plasma, deleterious effects such as evaporation, phase alteration, residual stress, debonding, and gas release etc., commonly occur in these coatings. This paper presents a novel approach to deposit bioceramic coatings at temperatures well b...

The deposition of a thin tin oxide film allows for the manufacture of modern gas sensors. Spray pyrolysis deposition is used to grow the required thin films, as it can be seamlessly integrated into a standard CMOS processing sequence. A model for spray pyrolysis deposition is developed and implemented within the Level Set framework. Two models for the topography modification due to spray pyroly...
